Keanu Reeves could have been in Death Stranding

No doubt that Keanu Reeves has his hands full this year whit a starring role in Cyberpunk 2077, a funny part in Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe and Bill and Ted film. And we almost could have added Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding to this list.

During San Diego Comic-Con a lot of interesting information was revealed. One of those things was Hideo Kojima saying that Keanu Reeves was recommended to him for game’s primary antagonist. But instead Kojima chose Mads Mikkelsen. Mads Mikkelsen in known for movies like Hannibal, Doctor Strange and Arctic.

During the panel Kojima said: “I originally was recommended Keanu Reeves but I wanted Mads.”

And we can’t be mad about his choice because from the looks of it Mads Mikkelsen is perfect for the role of game’s primary antagonist.

Another interesting thing Kojima said was when he was asked about why he decided to create something like Death Stranding: “The easiest thing to do would have been to make a game where everyone is on an island and shoots each other.”

Hideo Kojima also talked about how he wants to form a meaningful legacy. “I want to create something that gives more inspiration to the world. Like Hollywood movies where some don’t live with you, people just digest and consume. What I do is make something that’s difficult to chow down when you digest my work.”
