Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet finally coming to Nintendo Switch!

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is a third-person shooter action RPG that is developed by Dimps, that is known for developing games like Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, Sonic the Hedgehog etc. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. This game is the fifth game in the series and is the successor of Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization (2016). The game was released worldwide on February 23 on Xbox One, PlayStation and Windows PC and now finally it is one of the August game releases and on August 9 it is coming to Nintendo Switch too.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet storyline

The story takes place in Gun Gale Online a game that was released by Zaskar and follows the advent of The Seed. The base of the game includes two modes. One mode is the Main Story that follows the players custom character. The second mode is Kirito Mode and it is a mini-campaign that focuses on Kirito, where the Death Gun incident is accustomed to fit the Gameverse. There are also three additional story campaigns via additional paid Downloadable Content: Ambush of the Imposters, Betrayal of Comrades, Collapse of Balance and Dissonance of the Nexus.

What’s different about Fatal Bullet than in other series is that it features original character creation and though weapons like Kiritos photon sword are still available there also is the usage of firearms in battle. As your character progresses through the story, in a similar manner to Kirito, the character can unlock the ability to dual-wield a gun and photon sword. As the game progresses the character levels up and gains skills.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet also has a multi-player mode that allows to form a four-man cooperative parties or even fight in four-on-four PvP matches. Here players are divided into Alpha and Bravo teams.

What’s going to be different about Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet on Nintendo Switch?

First of all Bandai Namco now has confirmed that Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet for Nintendo Switch will be digital only in North America and a date for European release has not been set jet. And secondly, the Nintendo Switch version of the game will feature an option to aim using the Joy-Con’s gyro sensors.
